DOHA: Second League side Mesaimeer on Monday stunned Al Ahli 3-1 in the
penalty shoot-out to advance to the next round of the Emir Cup.

At the end regulation time, both teams on Monday were locked in a goalless draw
and the tie-breaker was introduced at the end of the 90-minute period to break the
impasse.

Both the teams had their share of chances but could not find the net in the first half
and it continued the same way in the second half.

The clash between two had its share of exciting moments in the first half, with Al Ahli
having a slight edge with 66 percent ball possession.

In the second half, Al Ahli dominated but could not find the net while three Mesaimeer
players found the net and one was far from the mark.

Mesaimeer will take on Al Sailiya in the next round match.

The Emir Cup competition is contested by both, QNB Stars League and Second League
clubs.

The third round will be played on April 28 and 29 while the fourth round games are staged
on May 3 and 4. The semi-finals will be played on May 11 and 12.

The final will be played on May 19.
