Italy’s Rocchi to officiate Emir Cup final

DOHA: Italian referee Gianluca Rocchi has been assigned to manage the
Emir Cup final, Qatar Football Association (QFA) announced on
Wednesday.
The May 19 title clash will be played between Al Sadd and Al Rayyan at
the Khalifa International Stadium.
The 43-year-old Rocchi is a FIFA-accredited referee having officiated
in UEFA and Serie A matches since 2000.
He refereed three matches for the UEFA Euro 2012 qualifying and later
was called as referee at the Men’s football tournament at 2012 Summer
Olympics.
Rocchi will be assisted by linesmen Matteo Passeri and Alessandro
Giallatini, both from Italy, QFA confirmed on Wednesday.
The final will kick off at 7:00pm.
A packed crowd of about 48,000 is expected to watch the final.
