Doha, 10th December, 2016: F.C. Barcelona will take on Al-Ahli on Tuesday, 13 December in the highly anticipated Match of Champions at Al Gharafa’s Thani bin Jassim Stadium. Ahead of the game the Local Organising Committee (LOC), comprising of the Supreme Committee for Delivery & Legacy (SC), Qatar Football Association and the Qatar Stars League, welcomed a host of key match sponsors to a signing ceremony in Al Bidda Tower – Qatar’s Home of Football – today (Sunday).

Nasser Al Khater, CEO of the LOC, welcomed the sponsors and hailed their efforts in preparing to make the game a major success for the fans who will attend.

He said: “Firstly I would like to thank everyone who has taken the step to become a key sponsor for the Match of Champions between F.C. Barcelona and Al-Ahli. The match on Tuesday promises to be an exciting one, and without the help of our sponsors this game would not have been possible.”

Qatar Tourism Authority has been elected as the presenting sponsor. Rashed Al Qurese, Chief Marketing and Promotion Officer at Qatar Tourism Authority said: “The hosting of this Match of Champions is testament to the growing strength of Qatar’s position as a destination for global sporting events. We are pleased to join hands yet again with our partners at Qatar Airways to bring this event to Doha, attracting fans of the two teams from around the region to enjoy football, played in world-class facilities, and surrounded by our authentic Arabian hospitality. This historical match, together with the attractive packages we have worked with Qatar Airways and Qatar Airways Holidays to provide regional audiences, promise an unforgettable experience for Qatar’s visitors this week.”

Saleh Al Hamad Al Mana Co. the exclusive agent for Nissan, Infiniti & Renault in Qatar has been announced by Qatar Football Association as the official transport partner for the Match of Champions. Speaking at the event Hisham Saleh Al Mana, Chairman and Managing Director of Saleh Al Hamad Al Mana Group of Companies said: “It’s a huge honor to be associated and to be part of the success of this event right here in Doha, involving two of the most prominent football teams in the world. Nissan will be the official transporter for the teams during their stay in Qatar. I would like to thank the organizing committee for their efforts to make this event a great success.”

Anti-Doping Lab Qatar (ADLQ) confirmed itself as the official partner ahead of the Tuesday evening friendly match. Salem Hamad Al-Deaya of ADLQ revealed the importance in taking part of the Qatar Airways – Match of Champions.

He said: “The chance to promote the initiative of clean sport during the Qatar Airways – Match of Champions seemed the right thing to do. The match presents the perfect opportunity to emphasize how important it is to fight doping and highlight values of integrity and honesty that are key to our work at the ADLQ.”
