DOHA: Qatar Football Association’s (QFA) Development Department has

successfully conducted a Level D coaching course from March 3 to 9,

details showed on Saturday.

The main lectures at the workshop were delivered by Simon Jennings

over the course of six days. A total of 24 participants featured in

the course.

Fahad Al Thani, Director of Development at QFA, was present throughout

the course. Dr. Muwaffaq Mawla Head of Education and Training Section,

was also present.

The end-of-course certificates were handed over to the participants by

Fahad, Dr Mawla and Jennings.

“We are thrilled to stage this workshop as we see this as one of the

best methods to develop the game in the country,” Fahad Thani said.

“Under the chairmanship of Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa bin Ahmed Al

Thani, the QFA President, QFA is doing its best to develop the sport

in the country by engaging youth to such workshops,” he said.

“We will continue to create a data base of participants at such

workshops. We believe we are moving in the right direction.

“To achieve the best of standards in coaching and playing the sport,

we have to have the experts visiting us and assisting us,” he added.

“That’s the future of football in Qatar – we want to develop the sport

the right way,” he said.

“I urge youngsters to take their education and practical work

seriously at such workshops. There’s so much to learn. It is a great

way to learn,” he said.

“I take this opportunity to thank Simon Jennings who was hugely useful

in explaining various topics to the students of this amazing game,” he

said.

Jennings said: “I thank QFA for this initiative. I also thank the

participants who showed great interest in learn. They asked a lot of

questions and I was happy to provide detailed answers.”
