DOHA: Just two days after their high pressure match against Korea in
Suwon, Qatar players hit the training pitch at Al Sadd Club on
Sunday for the 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifying match against Syria.

The game against Syria will be played at Jassim Bin Hamad Stadium

on October 11.

Organisers expect a sell-out as Qatar – coached by Jorge Fossati –
look to pick up their first points in the Asian Zone qualifying phase.

The Qatar squad landed in Doha after they suffered 3-2 defeat against
Korea on Thursday.

Hosts Korea relied with two late goals to beat Qatar 3-2 after
visitors closed the first half with a 2-1 lead.

Qatar coach Fossati said on Thursday after the game: “I am a positive
person and still believe that we can qualify and from this performance
we can take confidence.”

Key defender Yasser Ahmed said: “This was a good a performance. We
fought really well to score the two goals. But I would like to add
that we didn’t deserve to lose the match.”

The match against Syria will start at 7:00pm on Tuesday.

The Tuesday qualifying clash will be Qatar’s fourth following matches
against Iran (September 1), Uzbekistan (September 6) and Korea
(October 6).
