DOHA: Just a day after their 2018 World Cup qualifying game

against Iran, Qatar on Friday returned to Doha and hit the training

pitch immediately.

Qatar face Uzbekistan on September 6 at Jassim Bin Hamad

Stadium.

The players were seen in good spirits following their 2-0 loss

against Iran two days ago.

Qatar will be playing against South Korea‎, Syria and China

after their game against Uzbekistan.

Coached by Daniel Carreno, Qatar team underwent fitness

drills before training in set pieces on the pitch.

Coach Carreno said: “We have urged the players to forget

the Iran game and look forward to the challenging match

ahead of us against Uzbekistan”.

He said Qatar team had no injury issues and every player is

available for selection.

“I want the fans to turn in large numbers and support the

national side,” the former Al Arabi coach.

“Fans can lift the morale of the side “, he added.

The forthcoming match will be played under lights.

Qatar on Thursday conceded two injury-time goals to a go

down after a thrilling 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifying game

against hosts Iran.

Reza Ghoochannejhad and Alireza Jahanbaksh scored the

goals as Iran picked up first points from the Asian Zone

qualifier.

In the other Group A matches on Day1, Uzbekistan edged Syria

narrowly 1-0, while South Korea kicked off proceedings with a

3-2 victory over neighbors China.
