DOHA: Qatar, hosts of the 2022 FIFA World Cup, will complete all
proposed stadiums two years ahead of schedule, organisers said on
Saturday.

Hassan Al Thawadi, Secretary-General, Qatar 2022 Supreme Committee, said:
“We will deliver all proposed stadiums by 2022. We will be ready with
all our facilities when we stage the 2021 Confederation Cup.”

Al Thawadi was speaking during a program at Aspire4Sport Conference at
Aspire Academy.

“We have been holding discussions with stakeholders on the projects to
be developed for 2022 World Cup. We have been planning our projects
for almost three years now,” Al Thawadi said.

Al Thawadi also unveiled the first of six new stadiums to be built
from scratch by Qatar 2022.

The new Al Wakrah Stadium will be completed in 2018, Al Thawadi said.
