DOHA: The Qatar Football Association (QFA) Executive Committee will continue working until 2018, it was announced on Sunday following an important meeting headed by QFA chief Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Thani.
QFA Board Members Ahmed Al Buainain, Hani Ballan, Ibrahim Khalil Mohanadi, Khalifa Khamis and Ali Hassan Thawadi attended the meeting and ratified the decision.
The General Assembly also approved the induction of Khalifa Khamis and Ali Thawadi, candidates from Lekhwiya and Al Sailiyah, as Board Members until 2018.
The meeting also discussed minutes of the last football season.
Extensive reports were presented to QFA President of decisions taken and ratified since December last year when the last General Assembly meeting was held.
Matters relating to finance were also discussed in details, it emerged on Sunday.
Mubarak Faraj was given the task of managing and presenting a detailed report within a month.
“As you are all aware we have a lot of work related to QFA’s Vision 2021. We want to be the leaders of the game in the region and success
comes with hard work,” QFA President said.
“We need to work harder to unearth new talent in the country and build strong teams at all levels,” he said.
