Doha: The President of the Qatar Football Association (QFA), Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Thani received today, Tuesday 14 November, HE Mohammed Ali Subhani, Iran’s Ambassador to Qatar, in QFA’s headquarters located in Al Bidda Tower.

The QFA Vice President Saoud Al Mohannadi, QFA General Secretary Mansoor Al Ansari, and Executive Director of the QFA President office Ali Dawood also attended the meeting.

The QFA President and Iran’s Ambassador to Qatar discussed bilateral relations and ways to strengthen and further develop them. They also discussed matters of mutual interest and agreed to promote cooperation in the future.

During the meeting, the QFA President and Iranian Ambassador embraced the fruitful relationship and ongoing communication between the QFA and the Football Federation Islamic Republic of Iran (FFIRI), which mainly focuses on the exchange of knowledge and expertise for the development of football in both countries.

The QFA President stressed on the importance of the deep rooted relationship between the two federations and how football plays a key role in promoting bilateral relations between all federations.

HE Ambassador Mohammed Ali Subhani expressed his thanks and appreciation to the QFA President for the remarkable reception, which aims to serve the game of football in both countries. He also praised the role played by the QFA, which directly impacts football in a positive way in Qatar and the region and wished the QFA continued success.
He pointed out that Doha has become one of the most important sports hubs in the world, and expressed willingness to facilitate all the necessary measures to strengthen the relationship between the QFA and the FFIRI.
