DOHA: Al Shahaniya held Muaither to a 1-1 draw in their Second Division match played at A Sailiya Stadium.

In another game over the weekend, Al Wakra beat Al Shamal 4-2 after a fighting contest.

In the first encounter, Muaither appeared to be in a good position to pick up three points but Al Shahaniya fought back after the two sides ended the first half without a goal.

In the 73rd minute, Muaither scored first through Ayub Al-Wadrasi. As Maithar prepared to get three valuable points, Casey Amangwa scored the equalizer in the last minute of the match.

After the round nine clash, Al-Shahaniya have stretchered their lead to 15 points.

In the second game hosted at Al-Shamal Stadium, Al-Wakra won 4-2 after a hat-trick by striker Anthony Bassi who scored in the 4th, 37th and 73th minutes.

For Al Shamal, Rennan Ed Silva scored in the 33rd minute while Ali Faridoun found the net in the 76th minute.

Al Wakra have 12 points after 9 matches, a notch behind leaders Al Shahaniya.
