Doha, Qatar, 17 August, 2015: The Qatar Football Association (QFA) and Iraq Football Association (IFA) signed an MoU today which aims to focus on the development of the football between the two associations.

QFA Vice President Saoud Al Mohannadi and IFA President Abdulkhaleq Masoud signed the agreement on Monday 17th of August at the QFA’s headquarters in Al Bidda Tower.

Both organisations discussed the importance of this cooperation which seeks to have a direct positive impact on the development of the game at all levels in the coming period.

Saoud Al Mohannadi, QFA’s Vice President commented: “The signing of this agreement showcases the fruitful cooperation and longstanding relationship between the two organisations which began years ago.” He added: “The cooperation will be focusing on transfer of knowledge, exchanging expertise in various areas; however, we are focusing more on benefiting the IFA by making use of Qatar’s state-of-the-art football facilities, as well as the Orthopaedic and Sports Medicine Hospital, Aspetar.

Abdul Khaleq Masoud, President of IFA said: “We are very pleased to sign this agreement with QFA, which confirms the significant role that the Qatar Football Association plays on the regional, Asian, and International level.” He added: “We thank QFA for their ongoing support by hosting many football matches and training camps for the Iraqi national teams and clubs. This cooperation will provide countless opportunities for IFA which will have a long positive impact on Iraqi football development.” QFA’s General Secretary Mansoor Al Ansari, IFA’s Vice President Ali Jabar, and IFA Board Member Kamel Sagheer attended the signing ceremony.
