SUWON: Coach Jorge Fossati on Thursday said Qatar expected a ‘tough
game’ and got just that during a 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifying match
against red-hot Korea.

Hosts Korea relied on two late goals to beat Qatar 3-2 after visitors
closed the first half with a 2-1 lead.

Ki Sungyueng (12), Ji Dongwon (56) and Son Heungmin (58) scored for
the home side.

Al Sadd striker Hassan Al Haydos (16, penalty) and Sebastian Soria
(45) found the net for the visitors in the Asian Zone clash.

“As we expected it was a tough game. Korea started strongly and
pressed us and kept the ball well but we broke through in midfield and
this is where we did well. We looked good on the counter-attack,”
Fossati said after the tense clash.

“I am a positive person and still believe that we can qualify and from
this performance we can take confidence,” the Uruguayan said.

“Now we look to the Syria game and, when I looked at how we attacked
down the wings, I think we can win,” he added.

Qatar now return to Doha for their qualifier against Syria on October 11.

The game will be played under lights at Jassim Bin Hamad Stadium.
