DOHA: As part of its commitment to providing platforms for the communities to play football in a fun and competitive environment, Qatar Football Association (QFA) announced that it is organising the 3rd Asian Communities Football Tournament which will kick-off on Thursday, 5th March and will see twelve teams competing for the championship title.

The action-packed tournament is set to take place at QFA’s Football Development pitches from Thursday 5th March until Friday 8th May.

The opening matches will commence at 8pm with Jordan facing Lebanon and Indonesia facing Nepal.

The opening matches will be attended by a number of Asian ambassadors to show their continued support to their communities and the tournament. The twelve ambassadors that will attend the opening matches are:

  • Indian Ambassador to Qatar, H.E. Mr. Sanjiv Arora
  • Japanese Ambassador to Qatar, H.E. Mr. Shingo Tsuda
  • South Korean Ambassador to Qatar, H.E. Mr. Chung Keejong
  • Malaysian Ambassador to Qatar, H.E. Mr. Datuk Mohamed Johar
  • Lebanese Ambassador to Qatar, H.E. Mr. Hassan Najem
  • Jordanian Ambassador to Qatar, H.E. Mr. Zahi Al Samadi
  • Nepalese Ambassador to Qatar, H.E. Mr. Ganesh Prasad Dhakal
  • Sri Lankan Ambassador to Qatar, H.E. Mr. Jayantha Palipane
  • Thai Ambassador to Qatar, H.E. Mr. Piroon Laisamip
  • Filipino Ambassador to Qatar, H.E. Mr. Crescente R Relacion
  • Chinese Ambassador to Qatar, H.E. Mr. Yue Xiaoyong

QFA is committed to encourage the community to participate in the football tournaments it organises, thus, allowing the community members to adopt a healthy lifestyle. The tournament has become a well-established platform amongst the communities.
