DOHA: The Qatar national football team has jumped to 48th place globally, fourth in the Arab world and the fifth in Asia, in the FIFA rankings for the current month of August.

The FIFA ranking list resulted in Brazil retaining the first place in the world with 56.1837 points, and Belgium in second place with 92.1821 points, while the Argentine team ranked third, and the French team in fourth place, followed by England fifth, Spain is sixth, Italy is seventh, the Netherlands is eighth, Portugal is ninth, and Denmark is tenth.

At the Asian level, Iran topped the continent’s standings, ranked 23rd in the world, followed by Japan (24), South Korea (28), Australia (39), Qatar (48), Saudi Arabia (53), the UAE (69) and Iraq (70).

In Africa, Senegal topped the rankings in 18th place in the world, then Morocco in second place (22nd in the world), recording a decline of one place, then Tunisia (30), Nigeria (31) and Cameroon (38), then the Egyptian team ranked 40th, followed by Algeria.
