Eight U-23 players join senior squad in Spain
Doha: Qatar senior national team head coach Felix Sanchez has called up eight players from our under-23 national team to the training camp currently being held in Marbella, Spain.
The players are: Salah Zakaria, Yousuf Abdurisag, Ahmed Suhail, Jassem Jaber, Mustafa Tarek, Muhammad Ayyash, Nayef Al-Hadhrami and Osama Al-Tiri.
The joining of the eight players to Al Annabi came after the end of our team’s participation in the U-23 Championship, currently being held in Uzbekistan, after bidding farewell to the tournament with the conclusion of the first round competitions.
Sanchez had earlier announced a squad consisting of 27 players for the training camp: Saad Al-Sheeb, Meshaal Barsham, Yousef Hassan, Pedro Miguel, Tarek Salman, Abdelkarim Hassan, Boualem Khoukhi, Akram Afif, Muhammed Waad, Musaab Khidir, Ali Asad, Salem Al-Hajri, Hassan Al-Haydos, Mohamed Muntari, Bassam Al-Rawi, Ismail Mohammed, Almoez Ali, Karim Boudiaf, Assim Madibo, Abdullah Al-Ahrak, Abdelrahman Mohamed, Khaled Munir, Hazem Ahmed, Ahmed Fadel, Homam El-Amin, Ahmed Alaa and Abdelaziz Hatem.
Our national team is currently continuing with its daily training at the camp until June 28, as part of the final stage of the preparations for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022™.
This stage of the preparations consists of the intensive camp in Marbella, which will not include any friendly matches, in the first phase, until the players reach the required levels of readiness. The second phase will see other European camps and a number of friendly matches.
