AFC President honours Asia’s best player Afif
DOHA: Sheikh Salman bin Ibrahim Al Khalifa, President of the Asian Football Confederation (AFC), handed over the Asian Player of the Year trophy to Akram Afif, the star of the Qatari team and Al Sadd Club.
Afif could not pick up the trophy last week when the ceremony was held in Hong Kong.
The honoring ceremony was also attended by Turki Al Ali, the General Manager of Al Sadd Club, Mansour Al Ansari, Secretary General of the Qatar Football Association, and Talal Al Kaabi, General Supervisor of the National Teams, in Ali Bin Hamad Al Attiyah Hall in Doha.
Afif has become the third overall Qatari to win the trophy after Khakfan Ibrahim (2006) and Abdulkarim Hassan (2018).
