MUSCAT: The Executive Committee members of the Arab Gulf Cup Football Federation (AGCFF) met under the chairmanship of Sheikh Hamad Bin Khalifa Bin Ahmed Al-Thani in the Omani capital on Tuesday.

A number of key decisions were taken following the last meeting of AGCFF.

Among those who attended Tuesday’s meeting included Abdul Khaleq Masoud, President of the Iraqi Football Federation, Abdulkhaliq Masoud, Secretary-General of AGCFF, Jassim Al Rumaihi, Assistant Secretary-General, Hameed Al Shaibani of Yemen, Jassim Al Shakeili of Oman and Kuwaiti member Mohammed Khalil.

Football officials from Saudi Arabia, the UAE and Bahrain abstained from attending the meeting.

Sheikh Salem Al Wahaibi, President of the Oman Football Association, also attended the meeting on an official invite. Al Wahaibi, in his address, welcomed the football officials to the country where the AFC Awards ceremony will be held on Wednesday. He also called for the postponement of the extraordinary general assembly meeting which was set to take place today, a new date – 30 December- was agreed upon by the meeting’s attendees.

Prior to the next meeting scheduled to be held at the end of December, all member countries will be officially intimated on details and agenda of the meeting where member associations will set the exact dates of the 24th Gulf Cup set to take place in Qatar.

The region’s football officials will be attending the highly-anticipated AFC Annual Awards Muscat 2018 at the Oman Convention & Exhibition Centre on Wednesday.
