The International Federation of Professional Footballers (FIFPro) has announced the election of Mr. Salman Ahmed Al-Ansari as a member of the Board of Directors of FIFPro (Asia and Oceania Division) during the elections that took place during the General Assembly of FIFPro Asia and Oceania Division held on October 21, 2021. Mr. Al-Ansari will be a member of the FIFPro Asia & Oceania Board of Directors for the term 2021-25.

On this occasion, Mr. Abdulrahman Al-Kuwari, President of the Qatar Players Association (QPA), said, “We are pleased that Salman Al-Ansari has been elected as a member of the Board of Directors of FIFPro (Asia and Oceania), which reflects the confidence gained by Mr. Al-Ansari during his presidency of the Association at the continental and international levels. We wish the best of success to Mr. Al-Ansari.”

Mr. Ibrahim Al-Ghanim, Vice-President of the QPA, said: “We are working in the QPA to build continental and international relations that help us achieve our goals and better serve our players. The election of Mr. Salman Al-Ansari is a result of the nature of the work he did during the years in which he founded and headed the association, and we hope he is successful in carrying out his duties.”

Mr. Al-Ansari has been elected alongside six members of the Board of Directors of FIFPro (Asia and Oceania), which are Takuya Yamazaki (Japan), Catherine Gill (Australia), Cyrus Confectioner (India), Anna Green (New Zealand), Izham Ismail (Malaysia).

Mr. Salman Al-Ansari is considered one of the most prominent lawyers in the country, and is the founding president of the Qatar Players Association. He also holds several local, continental and international positions. He is currently the Vice-President of Qatar Sports Arbitration Foundation, Vice-Chairman of the Appeal Committee of the Asian Football Confederation, a member of the the FIFA Appeal Committee, the first Qatari arbitrator accredited to the international Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS), and an arbitrator with the International Chamber of Commerce and the Qatar International Center for Conciliation and Arbitration.
