DOHA: Football powerhouse Al Duhail went on a goal-scoring spree beating Al Ahli 5-1 in their high-scoring Qatargas League clash over the weekend.

In other games, Al Sadd beat Al Sailiya 2-1, Al Rayyan went past Al Arabi 2-0 while Al Gharafa were too good for Al Kharaitiyat winning 5-1. There were draws between Qatar SC and Al Khor and Al Shahaniya and Umm Salal.

Al Duhail’s goals were scored by Saleh Halabi, Salmeen Ateeq, Ahmed Al Khuwailid and Khaled Waleed Al Ahli’s only goal was scored by Naveed Mohammed in the 74th minute.

Meanwhile Al Shahaniya and Umm Salal played a 2-2 draw on Tuesday. Ahmed Al-Juhani scored a brace while Abdul Aziz Al-Yahri and Abdullah Jamal scored for Umm Salal. Al Shahaniya have a tally of 21 points while have 19 points.

In another clash, Al Rayyan beat Al Arabi 2-0 after goals by Khalid Mohammed (15) and Khalifa Al Masifri (77). Al Rayyan deserved to win after they performed well. Al Rayyan have 14 points.

In another one-sided win, Al Gharafa eased past Al-Kharaitiyat 5-1 after goals by Mohammed Saeed (5), Rashid Mohammed Saleh (20), Mohammed Ramadan Siddiq (25), Abdul Majeed Anad (32) and Ahmed Mohammed Al-Janhi (38). The only goal for Al Kharaitiyat came from Abdul Aziz Al Ansari in the 71th minute.

It was Al Gharafa’s seventh victory, raising their points tally to 21 points.

In other matches on Monday, Qatar SC and Al Khor shared points in a 1-1 draw. Qatar SC scored first when Omar Saeed scored in the 12th minute. For Al Khor, the equalizer was scored by Ahmed Hassan Al-Muhannadi (30). Al Khor have 26 points.

Meanwhile Al Sadd posted their fourth victory with a 2-1 victory over Al-Sailiya. Al Sadd have lifted their points tally to 13 points whereas Al-Sailiya have 9.

Al Duhail remains in the lead with 34 points while Al-Khor are in second spot with a tally of 26. Al Arabi (24) are in third place while Al Gharafa (21) are in fourth spot. Al Shahaniya (21) and Umm Salal (20) are fifth and sixth respectively in the points standings. Qatar SC (15), Al Sadd (13), Al Ahli (13), Al Rayyan (11) and Al Sailiya (11) and Al Kharaitiyat (1) complete the 12 sides in the league.
