Al Kharaitiyat strengthens grip on top spot
DOHA: Al Kharaitiyat team has strengthened its lead in the Second Division with a win over Al Bidda.
Al Kharaitiyat has raised the tally to 33 points after posting a 2-1 in the round 15 clash played at Al Wakrah Stadium.
Al Kharaitiyat’s goals were scored by Abdullah Taleb Afifa (59) and Rashid (90 + 5).
The match was strong and exciting for fans. Both teams squandered many chances to score across the two halves.
However, Al Kharaitiyat showed their experience and picked up a point.
Referee Abdul Al-Ruwaili showed the yellow card to Al-Khraitiyat players Muhammad Salam, Rashid, Mahdi Al-Khumasi and Abdul-Majeed Anad, and for the players of Al-Bidda – Sayed Ahmed Hadi and Muhammad Hatim.
In another match, Al Markhiya defeated Mesaimeer 1-0 at Thani Bin Jassim Stadium. Aden Ali scored the only goal of the match in the 42nd minute.
Referee Hamad Al-Subai’i showed the red card and his yellow cards to Anthony Bassi, Ahmed Mubarak and Hamoud Al Yazidi and Mohamed Fayd (Mesaimeer).
Al Markhiya has now raised its tally to 26 points (third place) while Mesaimeer remains at 23 points (fifth place).
At Al Arabi Stadium, Muaither defeated Al-Shamal 1-0 after substitute Mohamed Kani found in the 81st minutem
Muaither has 24 points while Al Shamal has 20 points.
In another match, Lusail and Al Waab played a goalless draw at Al Shamal Stadium.
Lusail’s has 11 points while Al Waab has two points.
