DOHA: Defending champions Al Sadd dropped more points, as they were held goalless by a spirited Al Ahli at the Al Arabi Stadium on Friday.

Injury-plagued Sadd had settled for a 2-2 draw in the last game against Al Rayyan.

Rayyan were in for a shock this time when they let slip the advantage and lost to Al Wakra 1-2.

Abdullah Taleb Afifa gave Rayyan the lead as early as the third minute, but a brace from Argentinian striker Sebastian Saez (57th and 73rd) ensured full points for Wakrah.

Elsewhere, the Brazilian trio of William Souza, Madson and Julio Cesar were on target as Al Khor blanked Al Gharafa 3-0.
