DOHA: After spending two years in the Second Division, Al Wakrah have qualified for next season’s QNB Stars League, the country’s premier football league.

Al Wakrah beat Al Bida 4-0 on their home soil in the penultimate round of the Second Division.

Al Wakra dominated the game early. Al Wakrah opened the scoring when Jamil Salim found the net in the 26th minute.

Ghana’s Nanabuku added the second goal in the 29th minute. The team added two more goals in the second half, in the 52nd and 63rd minutes through Omar Ali.

The confrontation was moderated by Sa’ud Ali al-Tarabi and assisted by Talib Salem, Abdul Majid al-Karbi and the fourth by Syed Sharif Ali.

Al Wakra’s rise came after 14 games in which they scored 10 wins, drew twice and lost just two natches.

In the second game hosted on the same pitch, Muaither’s team beat Al Shamal 2-1.

Mamadou Lamine Ayoob Al Wadrasi scored for Muaither while Adel Abdullah found the net for Mesaimeer.

Al Markhiya on Thursday take on Mesaimeer to decided which team grabs the second spot in QNB Stars League.
