DOHA: Hosts Al Wakra held points leaders Al Shahaniya to a goalless draw at Saud Bin Abdulrahman Stadium in a Second Division match.

Playing a defensive game, Al Wakra showed spirit to dent the poweful attackers of Al Shahaniya.

Relying on patchy attacks, the home team did create chances to score but could not break the backline of Al Shahaniya.

Despite the goalless draw, a total of 7 yellow cards were shown to the players.

Five Al Shahaniya players received yellow cards:  Alfaro Mejia, Mustafa Jalal, Kessi Amangwa, Abdulrahman Naji and Hamad Saud Al-Juhaini. Al-Wakra players who got penalized included Waheed Mohammed and Ahmed Kahil.

With a goalless draw, Al Shahaniya now have a tally of 10 points whereas Al Wakra have just 3.

In another match, Mesaimeer were held to a 3-3 draw by Muaither.

In the dramatic tie, Mesaimeer’s Majed Alaalak was sent off in the 37th minute and team mate Ahmed Mubarak was shown the red card in the last minute.

The first half ended with Mesaimeer leading 2-1 lead.

Musa Alalak, Robert Luciano and V Silva Luis scored for Mesaimeer.

Saleh Al Diri’s line goal was followed by a double from Vincent Silva for Muaither.

In addition to the two red cards, the referee Nayef Al-Qadri issued yellow cards to Muaither players V Silva, Walid Saleh and Daoud Abdul Karim.

Mesaimeer players to be penalized included Musa Al-Alaq, Ahmed Mubarak, Abdulrahman Samir, Abdul Rahman Bakhit and Khaled Jibrati.

This result raised Mesaimeer’s points rally to 7 points while Muaither have 3.
