DOHA: The Local Organising Committee for the final of HH the Amir Cup 2022, held the coordination meeting for the match between Al Duhail and Al Gharafa, which is scheduled to be played on Friday, March 18th, at 7:00 PM Doha time, at Khalifa International Stadium.

At the beginning of the meeting, Mr. Ali Hamoud Al-Nuaimi, Head of the Competitions Department of the Qatar Football Association, welcomed the officials from Al-Duhail and Al-Gharafa clubs, and also the representatives from the operations, media, referees and the medical committees. He wished success to both the teams in the final of the 50th edition of the Amir Cup, as they face off on a special occasion, particularly as both sides will have the honour of shaking hands with His Highness the Amir on the podium.

Al-Nuaimi reviewed a number of important organisational points, including the dates of the main training sessions before the match, procedures for moving from hotels to the stadium, activities inside the stadium before and after the match, details of the main warm-up, instructions for the entry and exits of the two teams, and a number of other arrangements for the successful organisation of the match, in a manner that befits the importance of the event. He also spoke of the need to adhere to the regulations and instructions, wishing the two teams success in the upcoming match, which the supporters of both teams and football fans in Qatar are looking forward to.

Mr. Abdullah Jassim, a member of the local organising committee, also spoke about a number of organisational procedures for the match, while Mr. Abdullah Al Balushi, representative of the referees committee, stressed the importance of adhering to sportsmanship on the field, and listening to the referees’ directives from the start to the end. He also went through the rules and regulations approved for the competition, reiterating that in the event that the normal time of the game ends in a draw, the game will move to a penalty shootout without playing extra time.

For his part, Mr. Ali Al-Salat, the media officer for the final match, explained the details of the media activities before and after the match, including press conferences, and activities of the mixed zone, especially as the final is set to attract large numbers of media representatives.

Al-Gharafa’s yellow home kit was approved for the game, while Al-Duhail are set to wear their red home kit.

The meeting took place via video conference in the presence of: Ali Hamoud Al-Nuaimi, Chairman of the Competitions Committee of the QFA, Ismail Ahmed, representative of Al-Duhail; Mujeeb Hamed, representative of Al-Gharafa; Ali Hassan Al-Salat, media official for the final; Hussein Al-Sharshani, Abdullah Jassim and Abdullah Al-Ansari representing the LOC officials; and Musallam Al-Hallabi, Media Operations Officer; Abdullah Al Balushi, representative of the referees committee; and Hamid Ghareeb, the medical team leader.
