DOHA: HH the Emir Cup 2014 trophy tour continued to Al Rashad School yesterday. Organised by the Qatar Football Association (QFA), the trophy concluded its journey of the schools and will now continue to the different sponsors of the Emir Cup in the forthcoming days.
The students of the Al Rashad School gathered enthusiastically around it and took memorable pictures.

The school organised a football tournament for the students and a few footballers, including Adel Khamees, Mansoor al-Muftah, Ibrahim Khalfan, Bader Belal and Younes Ahmad.

The trophy visit featured a heartwarming welcome reception that was organised by the school officials and students. The reception was attended by Principal Lulwa Khalaf al-Kaabi, PE co-ordinator Hessa al-Mohannadi in addition to other staff members.
Yesterday’s tour coincided with Al Rashad School’s sports forum that is organised in collaboration with various sports federations. Sponsored by Al Gharafa Sports Club and Ezdan Holdings, the forum’s theme was “Sport Brings Us Together” and aims to spread awareness about the benefits of doing sports and the positive values it brings to the young generations.

During the forum, Al Rashad School in collaboration with Cambridge Academy also launched “Al Rashad Award for Sports Excellence”; it is an annual award for distinguished students that excel in sports in the various schools in Doha.

Al Rashad School principal Lulwa al-Kaabi said: “We are happy to welcome QFA and thank them for bringing the popular trophy to our school to spread awareness about this prestigious tournament. Today was the perfect day for the tour to take place as we had a sports forum that raises awareness about the benefits of doing sports and adopting a healthy lifestyle through sports. We have witnessed a very positive feedback by our students and are happy to see that the students enjoyed a fun-packed day.”

Round 5 of Emir Cup matches will take place on Saturday, May 10 at Al Sadd Stadium where Al Ahli will take on Al Sailiya at 5:15pm, followed by a strong semi-final between Al Sadd and Al Gharafa at 7:45pm.
