Doha: The Emir Cup Trophy Tour visited Umm Salal Mohammed Model School for Boys and Al Andalus School for Boys in which a large number of students and staff members took part and gathered around the trophy for a memorable photo opportunity with the most coveted prize, the Emir Cup trophy.

The visit to Umm Salal Mohammed School included a fun-packed day in which the students performed a specially choreographed dance to celebrate the fact that the Emir Cup Trophy Tour made a stop in their school.

Al Rayyan players Abdulrahman Al Harazi, Soud Khater and Mohammed Ala’a were accompanied by a Qatar Football Association Delegation consisting of Ali Al Salat, Head of Media, Noora Al Tammimi, Head of Social Responsibility, Noora Al Shamrani, Social Responsibility Coordinator, Abdulrahman AbdulJabar, Social Media Specialist and Nabil Qayed Schools Coordinator.

Binah Al Fuhaid, Principal of Umm Salal Mohammed Model School commented: “It is a pleasure for the school to host the Emir Cup Trophy Tour; this tournament is of utmost importance to us and the school children and we are all excited to be part of the final match on 19 May. This tournament is one of the most significant tournaments in Qatar in which all clubs are competing to win, to have the honor to meet in person His Highness the Emir, Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al Thani.”

At Al Andalus School for Boys, academic deputy Mohammed Khabaz was at the forefront when welcoming the QFA delegation.

The students gathered enthusiastically around Al Gharafa’s duo Asim Madibo and Yousif Hassan to take memorable pictures while wearing their favorite football team jersey.

As part of its’ mission to educate the students about the importance of taking part in sports and adopting a healthy lifestyle, Khalifa Model Independent School for Boys celebrated the Emir Cup Trophy Tour by organizing a mini football tournament for the students and countless sports activities.

Noora Al Tammimi, Head of Social Responsibility, QFA said: “Sports plays a vital role in the wellbeing of our students and we constantly organize countless sports and football-related activities for the school children as it is our responsibility to ensure that our students live a healthy and active lifestyle, and the Emir Cup is the provides us with the perfect opportunity to underline this message.”

The day also involved organizing a small exhibition in which health advisors gave advice and tips to the school children about healthy eating and lifestyle, importance of taking part in sports and staying active during and after school hours.

The Trophy Tour is part of the Emir Cup 2018 promotional campaign which aims to instill a football culture in Qatar and involve all segments of the community specifically schools to take part in the events and activities that are organized by QFA during the period of the tournament and ahead of the final match in specific.
