Development Program for Local Media Coordinators Concludes in Doha

Doha: The Qatari Football Association (QFA), in collaboration with the Asian Football Confederation (AFC), successfully concluded a two-day workshop for local media coordinators on Thursday afternoon. The event, held on October 29-30, 2025, at the Aspire Hall in Al Shaqab Hotel, aimed to enhance the professionalism of media operations for football matches.

 

Over the course of the workshop, attendees engaged in extensive and productive discussions. AFC instructor and Media Operations & Competition Rights Manager, Mr. Ahmed Tialeef, detailed the necessary media procedures for matches across various competitions. The sessions covered the media coordinator's scope of authority, roles, and responsibilities, emphasizing methods of coordination with match management and the importance of collaborative teamwork.

 

The workshop also reviewed media regulations, including the organization of pre- and post-match media activities such as press conferences and television interviews. Participants were briefed on the critical need to verify the availability and readiness of media centers, seating for journalists, and photographers' areas. Various real-world media scenarios that occur during matches were also presented and analyzed.

 

The closing ceremony was attended by Mr. Mansoor Al-Ansari, General Secretary of the QFA, who distributed certificates of participation to the 50 attendees. The group included promising Qatari youth and local media coordinators representing our national teams, five of whom were women. Also present were Mr. Khalid Mubarak Al-Kuwari, Director of Marketing and Communications, and Mr. Ali Hassan Al-Salat, Head of the Media Department at the QFA.
