DOHA: Qatar’s football family united on Tuesday to celebrate the 3rd
annual National Sports Day (NSD).

Held at the world-renowned Aspire Zone, employees from the Qatar
Football Association (QFA), the Supreme Committee for Delivery &
Legacy and the Qatar Stars League (QSL) came together to promote the
health benefits associated with active lifestyles.

All three football entities took part in a friendly five-a-side
tournament that saw employees compete in an event enjoyed by family
and friends, serving as an integral part of the National Sports Day
programme .

The tournament was won by Futsal – a team made up of staff from the QFA.

“This year’s activities raise awareness about the importance sport can
have on leading healthier lifestyles,” Sheikh Hamad Bin Khalifa Bin
Ahmed Al Thani, President of QFA, said.

“Celebrating this significant day with our employees and their
families is a sustainable approach towards bringing the Qatar National
Vision 2030 to reality,” he added.

Hassan Al Thawadi, Secretary General, Supreme Committee for Delivery &
Legacy, said: “Promoting healthy lifestyles is an integral part of the
legacy the Supreme Committee for Delivery & Legacy wants to leave for
the whole country. Activities like these are one way in which we
encourage our employees to embody these values.”

He added: “Everyone involved in this event lives and breathes sport.
It is a great opportunity for our employees to embrace a healthier
lifestyle. Following the success of last year’s festivities, we are
all looking forward to enjoying a third National Sports Day with our
co-workers and families.’

Thousands of people came long to Aspire to share in a carnival
atmosphere as the footballfFamily delivered a highly-successful event
enjoyed by all.

A key part of the day was also delivering the message a healthy diet
was key to a healthy lifestyle.
