Indonesia hold Qatar to 2-2 draw
DOHA: Khalid Muftah and Abdulqader Elyas scored as Qatar came from a goal down to draw 2-2 with painstaking Indonesia on Monday at Saoud bin Abdulrahman Stadium.
The visitors took the lead just one minute inside the international friendly through Salampessy, only to be answered by left back Khalid Muftah on 40 minutes.
El Jaish striker Abdulqader Elyas gave Qatar the lead in the 56th minute, but Indonesia had the last word when substitute Bachdim equalized on injury time to secure a famous draw for the Southeast Asian side.
Qatar will also host Uzbekistan on October 4 and Australia on the 14th of the same month.
The friendlies will be part of Djamel Belmadi’s plans for the national squad preparing for this year’s Gulf Cup to be held in November and next year’s Asian Cup.
