DOHA: Mohamed Khaled Fakhro, Head of the International Relations of the Qatar Football Association (QFA), Wednesday, participated in the meeting of the AFC Development Committee via video communication technology, chaired by Salem Saeed Al Wahaibi.

In its meeting, the committee stressed enhancing the impact of the support programs provided by the AFC to the national and regional federations.

During the meeting, the committee approved the proposal to introduce new instructions for the advanced program in the AFC to simplify the current instructions and policies and establish a more transparent framework for the national and regional beneficiary federations.

Subject to these amendments, the Advanced Program Instructions and Regulations for the Member Associations, the Advanced Program Instructions and Regulations for the Regional Associations, and the Preference and Overtime Advanced Programs for the FAs will apply under the umbrella of the Advanced Program Instructions.

The committee members noted the impact of the AFC development programs in enhancing the capabilities of national and regional federations, with 34 national federations submitting the advanced program for national associations and approving an amount of nearly $7 million.

The members of the committee were briefed on the development in the pioneering programs under the umbrella of the Academy of Excellence in the AFC, which was celebrated one year after its launch, as the Football Management Certificate and Football Management Diploma programs are preparing to launch the fourth edition of each in October 2022, since the launch Academy in September 2021.
