Olympic squad reaches France for Toulon International Tournament
TOULON, France: Qatar’s Olympic squad has reached France to feature in the hugely followed Toulon International Tournament set to take place from June 1 to 15.
In Group B, Qatar are tagged with Brazil, France and Guatemala while Argentina, Chile, Japan and Portugal are in Group A. Mexico, Ireland, China and Bahrain are in Group C.
The two-week tournament will be contested by under-22 national teams, although France, Portugal, England and Republic of Ireland will play with their under-18, under-19, under-20 and under-21 teams respectively.
This will be the sixth time that Qatar will feature in the tournament.
Qatar are already in preparatory mode having launched team training sessions last month under Spanish coach Albert Fernandez.
Qatar is using the event for practice purposes as it preparing to play the U-23 Asian Cup to be held in Thailand next year. The event in Thailand will also serve as a qualifier for the Tokyo Olympic Games in 2020.
Al Annabi take on France on June 2, Guatemala on June 5 and Brazil on June 8.
