DOHA: Qatar’s Ahmed Omar has returned from the United Arab Emirates
(UAE) where he lectured in a AFC-organized lectures on fitness and
training.

Omar was joined by Abdul Majid and Zakaria Ahmed of the UAE during the
lecture session which was supported by football authority in the UAE.

In an informal chat, Omar later said AFC is trying to create a cadre
of training to enhance the quality of player fitness and training
across Asia.

Omar praised the AFC initiative, saying the development of the game
required such courses being held regularly.

A week ago, an innovative AFC Coaching the Coaches Workshop was held
on the sidelines of the recently concluded 2015 AFC U-16 Women’s
Championship in Wuhan, China.

The groundbreaking course aimed to bridge the gap between the
top-level women’s teams and the rest by providing extra coach
education opportunities for coaches of the teams who concluded their
participation after the competition’s group stage.

The coaches stayed to watch the later games and also collected
information on coach education programmes available to develop their
performance.
