DOHA: The Executive Committee of the Qatar Football Association (QFA) has announced that football clubs in the country will be allowed to register  one Arab player in their annual rosters until the end of the on-going season.

The Executive Committee of QFA on Monday issued circular No. (22) regarding registration of players. The Arab player must be part of the 23-player roster that is allowed to each club.

The Executive Committee also announced the following decisions:

• A total of three (3) foreign professional players will be allowed each match.

• Every team is eligible to have one (1) Asian professional player.

• Every team will be allowed  one Arab player.

• The above mentioned player should not occupy the goalkeeper’s position at any time in any game.

The players will be allowed to participate in all competitions held under the supervision of QFA and the QNB Qatar Stars League except for the playoff match between the 11th place in the QNB Stars League and second place in the Second Division.

Each club will have to obtain approval before  finalizing the contract with player. The approval must come from the Department of Competitions at QFA with involvement of the Financial Control Committee of QFA.

The latest changes will come into force from its date until the end of the ongoing sports season.
