DOHA: The President of French giants PSG Nasser Al Khaulaifi of Qatar
has hit back at news reports claiming ‘human rights abuses’ in Qatar.

Qatar will host the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
When Qatar stages the World Cup in 2022, it will be the first time
that football’s showpiece takes place in the Middle East.

In a newspaper interview published in Frankfurt, Al Khaulifi said it
was wrong to say there were ‘human rights abuses’ in his country of
origin.

He added that Qataris are compassionate and sports-loving and would never allow
discrimination of any kind.

Al Khualifi was speaking after recent reports hinted at human rights
abuses by various segments of the media.
