Doha: Qatar Airways, the Official Exclusive Carrier of this year’s Emir Cup, is pleased to congratulate Al Duhail, the winning team of this season’s exciting final match between Al Rayyan and Al Duhail.

The final match of the tournament was held at Khalifa International Stadium, the first Qatar 2022 FIFA World Cup™ stadium to be unveiled, and the first of eight World Cup venues in Qatar that will host Qatar 2022 FIFA World Cup™.

Qatar Airways Group Chief Executive, His Excellency Mr. Akbar Al Baker, said: “We are delighted to be the Official Exclusive Carrier of this prestigious tournament. The Emir Cup has been tremendously successful for more than four decades, as a result of the many committed fans in Qatar who have enthusiastically supported their teams. This is the second year the Emir’s Cup final has been hosted at the Khalifa International Stadium, the first Qatar 2022 FIFA World Cup™ stadium to be revealed and used. As we approach the launch of the Qatar 2022 FIFA World Cup™, we are truly excited to showcase our belief in the power of sport in bringing people together.”

The award-winning airline has recently added many exciting sporting sponsorships to its extensive sponsorship portfolio, including further enhancing its Formula E sponsorship by expanding its partnership to Rome and Berlin events, while remaining the title sponsor for the E-Prix in Paris and New York.

In addition to its existing partnership with the German football club giants FC Bayern München AG, for which it is a Platinum Partner, Qatar Airways also announced in April that it has become a Main Global Partner of Italian football club AS Roma, with the airline’s logo appearing on the team’s shirts. Earlier this month, the airline revealed that it will become the Official Jersey Sponsor of Argentinian club Boca Juniors.

Qatar Airways is also the Official Airline Partner of FIFA, which includes 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia™, the FIFA Club World Cup™, the FIFA Women’s World Cup™ and the 2022 FIFA World Cup Qatar™. The 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia is set to kick-off next month, with the first match kicking off in Moscow on 14 June.

Qatar Airways flies one of the youngest fleets in the sky, featuring the world’s most technologically-advanced and environmentally friendly aircraft. The airline operates a fleet of more than 200 modern aircraft to a network of more than 150 key business and leisure destinations across Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Asia Pacific, North America and South America.

The airline is continuing its ambitious expansion plans, and will launch a host of exciting new destinations this year, including Langkawi, Malaysia; Da Nang, Vietnam; Mykonos, Greece and Málaga, Spain, to name just a few.

As well as being voted Skytrax ‘Airline of the Year’ in 2017 by travellers from around the world, Qatar’s national flag carrier also won a raft of other major awards at last year’s ceremony, including ‘Best Airline in the Middle East,’ ‘World’s Best Business Class’ and ‘World’s Best First Class Airline Lounge’.
