Dushanbe: Qatar Football Association (QFA) and Tajikistan Football Federation (TFF) complement their long-standing relationship with the signing of a cooperation agreement here today.

The signing ceremony was witnessed by QFA president H.E. Sheikh Hamad Bin Khalifa Bin Ahmed Al Thani and Honorable Rustam Emomali, President of TFF and Dushanbe mayor.

Dignitaries from both federations attended the signing ceremony including QFA and AFC Vice President and FIFA Council Member Saoud Al Mohannadi,  CEO of president office Ali Daoud and Khurshed Mirzo, TFF Vice President.

Several key areas such as technical and professional exchanges, national teams, exchange of expertise (including coach education and youth development), game development, player development, and referee development will represent the agreement core focus.

The QFA President, Sheikh Hamad commented: “I am delighted to come to the beautiful city of Dushanbe and thank H.E. Rustam Emamoli for the warm welcome and hospitality. The official signing of the agreement with TFF is a very positive step towards football development, especially since both our federations enjoy a close relationship.” Sheikh Hamad added, “this agreement will pave the way for further strengthening of both our federations relations and will play a major role in developing football in both our countries.”

He continued “I am pleased to sign this cooperation agreement today and would like to offer all Qatar football and QFA resources at the disposal of TFF. I look forward to the fulfillment of the cooperation agreement soon.”

The two presidents also discussed ways to develop football in both countries and cooperation and collaboration in the future. Asian Football confederations (AFC) competitions were also discussed during the meeting.

TFF President commended Qatar and QFA for hosting the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 and also for winning the AFC Asian Cup UAE 2019. “please allow me to welcome you to my city. It is our pleasure to see you here. no doubt Qatar today is one of the major powers in global football.” He added, “I look forward to the implementation of this agreement and to reap the fruits of our cooperation.”

Mr. Emamoli further added, “I believe this agreement will mutually benefit both our federations and I trust it will serve to enhance our bilateral brotherly relations even further.”

The agreement will run for five years, and it will see exchange of knowledge and experiences, observation and secondment programs, capacity building, training camps, and friendly matches among other things.
