DOHA: Qatar U-23 were held to a 2-2 drawn game by African giants Ghana in an international friendly played on Tuesday at the Grand Hamad Stadium.

Ghana drew the first blood in the 34th minute through Samuel Tetteh to end the first half 0-1 advantage Ghana.

Back from the break, substitute Saleh Al Yazidi sent the home side into the lead with a brace in the 6oth and 64th minute but substitute Samuel Afful equalized for Ghana in the 79th minute to end a keenly fought contest in a 2-2 draw.

Qatar coach Fahad Thani used the game to prepare for the GCC championship for Olympic national sides to be staged in Bahrain next December.

Qatar will now take on Algeria twice on November 11 and 14.
