DOHA: Just less than a day after their heroic 3-1 win against China on
day one of the AFC U-23 Championship on Tuesday, Qatar squad was on
the training pitch ahead of their second game against Iran on Friday.

Hosts Qatar, coached by Felix Sanchez, are aiming to reach the 2016
Olympic Games by finishing one among three top sides at the Jan 12-30
event that kicked off in Doha on Wednesday.

The training at Aspire Academy on Wednesday was light as the team
management urged the players to recover by resting from the exhausting
Group A win over China.

Team officials said coach Felix has urged the players not to get
complacent as Iran remains one of the toughest sides in Asian
football.

Felix’s sleuths have watched the Iran game against Syria on Tuesday.
Iran won the Group A opener 2-0.

“The boys are in high spirits and are raring to go,” a team official
said on Wednesday.

Qatar will play their last AFC U-23 Championship preliminary stage
game against Syria on January 18.
