DOHA: Hosts Qatar will be looking to maintain it’s unbeaten streak in
the 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifying campaign on Thursday when it takes
on visiting Hong Kong side.

The Asian Zone, Group C clash takes place at Jassim Bin Hamad Stadium
on Thursday.

Qatar, coached by Daniel Carreno, has won all six games in the lead up
to Thursday’s clash.

Top of Group C with 18 points, Qatar are ahead of Hong Kong who are in
second spot.

Last year in September, Qatar beat Hong Kong 3-2 in their first leg.

Hong Kong have 15 points from seven matches.

Thursday’s key clash comes four days ahead of Qatar’s final Group C
match against China next Tuesday.

With all of his players fit, Carreno may have a selection headache
with influential strikers Rodrigo Tabata and Sebastian Soria are
available for the Group C clash.

“”It is very important for us to retain our focus. We will play with
same zeal and desire to win all future games,” Carreno said on Tuesday
prior to leading his team to a training session at Jassim Bin Hamad
Stadium pitch.

Most of Qatar’s players are coming off Qatar Stars League (QSL) games

last week.

Key striker Hassan Al Haydos on Tuesday said: “We can achieve the
dream of reaching the World Cup finals for the first time. It is not
impossible for Qatar.”

Maldives and Bhutan are the other two sides in the group.

QFA President Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Thani also visited
the Qatar team training session on Tuesday.

He addressed the squad before catching up with coach Carreno.
