Qatar national team concludes training camp
DOHA: The Qatari national team concluded Saturday its training camp that began on June 12. This follows the suspension of football witnessed all around the world as a result of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
Led by head coach Felix Sanchez, players underwent training that remained in line with the health protocols required by the Ministry of Public Health and the designated authorities to contain the Coronavirus (COVID-19).
The coaching staff focused on improving the players’ fitness level. They were divided into separate groups to maintain safe distancing, a precautionary measures required by the Ministry of Public Health.
The training camp was the first of its kind in the world for an international team since the pandemic. A total of 34 players took part in the training with sights on preparing for the 2023 Asian Cup qualifiers. Qatar will meet in Group E with India, and Bangladesh on October 8 and 13, in addition to meeting with Oman on November 12.
