DOHA: With just a little over two weeks to ago for the AFC U23
Championship, the Qatar football squad has intensified its training
sessions, details showed on Saturday.

Qatar, who were in Spain for their training camp, are set totake on
Uzbekistan tonight at Qassim bin Hamad Stadium.

Coached by Felix Sanchez, Qatar are preparing for the Jan 12-30 event
to be held in Doha. The winner of the 16-team and two other sides will
get 2016 Olympic Games berths.

The U23 camp said Nasser Khalfan will miss the Turkey part ofpreparation
after picking up an injury in Spain.

Qatar will play Uzbekistan on Sunday before taking on Yemen on December 30.

Qatar’s Olympic squad will lock horns with Iceland to tune-up
in the first week of January during their training camp in Turkey.

Anabi will face Iceland on January 6.

Theinternational friendlywill be played in Turkey where Qatar
will be based for a training camp ahead of Jan 12-30 AFC U-23
Championship.
