ZURICH, Switzerland: Qatar national team are ranked 43rd in the world in the latest classification issued by FIFA.

Coached by Felix Sachez, Qatar were ranked 42nd previously.

Qatar have a tally of 1446 points compared to 1451 points for the 42nd-placed Romania and Costa Rica (44th, 1438 points).

The Maroons are ranked 4 in the Arab world and 5 in Asia.

Tunisia are ranked first in the Arab world and 25th globally, followed by Algeria in second place in the Arab and 30 globally.

Morocco are third in the Arab world and 33 globally, followed by Qatar in the fourth spot in the Arab world and 43 in the world.

Egypt are in the fifth spot in the Arab world and 48th in FIFA rankings.

The Iranian team topped the rankings of the Asian continent (22nd place in the world) while Japan are second place in the Asian continent, followed by Australia, South Korea and Qatar.

Senegal topped the African continent rankings by occupying 20th place at the international level. Tunisia are ranked second, followed by Algeria in third place, Morocco fourth and Nigeria in fifth place.

Meanwhile, Belgium are the best team in the world while England moved up to third.

Belgium have managed to stay ahead of second-placed Brazil.

England skipped World Cup holders France by a place while Italy, who beat England in the final of Euro 2020, remain fifth ahead of South American champions Argentina.

Portugal jumped neighbours Spain into seventh, Mexico stayed ninth, and Denmark entered the top 10 after the US tumbled three places to 13th.
