DOHA: Qatar Football Association (QFA) has completed arrangements to welcome a large number of Omani fans for the 2022 FIFA World Cup and 2023 AFC Asian Cup joint qualifying match on Tuesday.

This was said by Khalid Al Kuwari, QFA’s Director of Marketing and Communication, following a coordination meeting between security teams and technical staff responsible for smooth conduct of operations.

The meeting was held at Al Bidda Tower on Sunday. The meeting was chaired byAl-Kuwari in the presence of Ali Hamoud Al-Nuaimi, Head of Competitions, Abdullah Jassim, Coordinator of the Match, Major Mohammed Thani Al-Hamli, Captain Abdullah Sattam Al-Kuwari and other officials.

Following the meeting, Al-Kuwari stressed on the importance of the Qatar-Oman match set to take place at Al Janoub Stadium.

“The upcoming match will be a great opportunity for the Qatari fans to say, ‘Thank you’ to the Omani fans for their outstanding support for our national team during the 2019 AFC Asian Cup. This is an opportunity for Qatar fans to express their thanks to the Omani fans in their own way,” Al Kuwari said.

Regarding the organizational matters, Al-Kuwari explained that the meeting emphasized on the importance of the attendance of the fans well in advance of the match.

“Security officials and organizers will be present to facilitate the process of public attendance to come out the game in the best organizational way especially as it will be held at a 2022 FIFA World Cup venue,” he added.

The security and coordination meeting resulted in setting the number of external gates for the fans and private parking for VIPs and people with special needs, families, organizers and the media.

Gate number 14 will be used by the Qatari public while gate number 15 is reserved for the Omani fans.

Tickets for the match will be available in two categories priced at QR 50 for the first category and the second category worth QR 10, officials said.

Qatar Rail has also allocated 10 busses to shuttle fans from Al Sakta Station to Al Janoub Stadium.

The two teams will address the media on Monday at two separate press conferences, officials informed on Sunday. The technical meeting will also be held on Monday at 4:30pm.

Tickets are available at Qatar Sports Club, Al Arabi Stadium and Al Sadd Stadium. On match day, tickets will be sold at Al Janoub Stadium.
