DOHA: Qatar have jumped three spots in the latest FIFA rankings released

by the game’s ruling body in Zurich on Friday.

Qatar were ranked 98 in late November, but have risen to 95 in the rankings which were released overnight.

It means Qatar will enter next month’s Asian Cup in Australia with the 8th highest ranking of the Asian nations.

Iran (51st), Japan (54th) and South Korea (69th) head Asia’s list.

World champion Germany comfortably tops the pile at number one despite a slump in form since its rampant campaign in Brazil.

The top three remain unchanged since September with beaten World Cup finalists Argentina second and Colombia in third.
