DOHA: The Round 17 action in the Qatargas U-23 League ended this week with Al Sadd and Al Gharafa at the top of the points standings.

Al Gharafa maintained a three-point difference with Al Sadd after winning 2-0 over Al Khor at Al Sailiya Club Stadium. Abdullah Makki (31) and Nasser Al Anazi (89) scored the goals for Al Gharafa.

In a third match, Al Rayyan beat Al Ahl 11-0 at Al Sailiya Stadium.

Abdul Rahman Al Harazi (two goals), Khaled Ali, Tamim Mansour, Muhammad Afifa, Ali Al Yazidi, Wasim Matar and Hadi Ali each scored a goal.

Qatar SC achieved a victory over Al Arabi after Salmin Al Rumaihi (61st minute). It was the second consecutive loss for Al Arabi.

Al Sadd strengthened thier position in the lead with 45 points, followed by Al Gharafa (42), Al Rayyan (31), Qatar SC (31), Al Wakra (30), Al Duhail (30), Umm Salal (24), Al Arabi (23), Al Khor (15), Al Sailiya (13), Al Kharaitiyat (5) and Al Ahli (3).

Top scorers: Nasser Al-Enezi (Al Gharafa), 14 goals followed by Hassan Balak (Al Sadd, 13), Tamim Mansour (Al Rayyan, 9), and Saud Al Nasr (8).

Matches of Round 18 will be held next Thursday and Friday (4-5 March) when Al Rayyan  lock horns with Al Sailiya, Qatar SC will play with Al Gharafa, and Al Duhail takes on Umm Salal.

Round 18 will end on Friday with three other matchups; when Al Arabi will meet Al Khor, Al Sadd will play Al Kharaitiyat, and Al Ahli will face Al Wakrah.
