DOHA: Qatar’s state-of-the-art Anti-Doping Lab (ADL) was on Tuesday
given the official stamp of approval by the visiting heads of national
Olympic committees in the GCC countries.

The heads of GCC NOCs said ADL in Doha will be recognized as the
‘official laboratory for all the tournaments that are held in the
region’.

The meeting was held under the chairmanship of Sheikh Saud Bin Ali
Al-Thani, Vice President of the Qatar Olympic Committee (QOC) and in
the presence of Sheikh Saud bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, Secretary
General of QOC.

The meeting also decided to set up a body to settle disputes and
sports. The Bahrain delegation proposed to have the body located in
Manama.

The meeting decided to form a legal committee for the development of
the ‘Statute of the Commission’.

Sheikh Saoud said GCC sports officials are unified in promoting sports
at the professional and community levels all over the region.

The meeting ends on Wednesday.
