DOHA: Qatar Football Association (QFA) on Saturday celebrated World Teachers Day. Khalid Mubarak Al Kuwari, Director of Marketing and Communication Department at QFA, honoured Omar HabibAllah, a teacher at Sudanese School, at the QFA headquarters at Al Bidda Tower on Saturday.

“QFA marking the day with fervour is part of its Vision 2021 which aims to bring about awareness that creates leadership among communities living in Qatar and guidance for the youth of the country,” Khalid Mubarak Al Kuwari said in a statement.

The Sudanese School is one of the academia supported by QFA.

“Mr. Omar HabibAllah is one of the most active and distinguished teachers in the country. He is interested in motivating students and encouraging them to attend the sporting events organized by the federations. He also backs students taking active part in watching matches of the Amir Cup and other tournaments we conduct from time to time,” Al Kuwari said.

“QFA praises the role played by Mr. Omar HabibAllah and other teachers in general. These teachers help the communities inculcate the positive habits which come from playing or following sports,” he added.

On Saturday an award was given to Mr. Omar HabibAllah as a tribute to his efforts and his active role in participating and motivating students to attend the matches in the stadium and supporting the national teams.

The award greatly resonated with Mr. Omar HabibAllah who expressed his great happiness on being honoured by QFA.

“This award will motivate me and others to keep backing sport as a way of life, ” Omar HabibAllah said on Saturday.

Al-Kuwari said on Saturday: “QFA takes great pride in celebrating World Teachers Day. This practice is followed worldwide and we are happy to be part of the larger sport loving family around the world. We can never underestimate the role of teachers in any sphere of life. Teachers all over the world play an important part in every student’s life.”

He added: “QFA supporting and celebrating World Teachers Day is done one the guidance of QFA President Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Thani who continues to stress on the importance of sports in general and football in particular. QFA’s community programs are hugely successful and we will continue to play our role in encouraging youth to respect teachers and celebrate their presence in our lives.”
