DOHA: Khaled Mubarak Al-Kuwari, Director of Marketing and Communication of the Qatar Football Association (QFA), on Sunday said he expects packed houses for the four quarterfinals of the Amir Cup.

During a draw ceremony on Sunday, the eight quarterfinalists were finalized.

“I congratulate the teams for qualifying for the last-eight of the tournament,” Al Kuwari said on Sunday.

“We are confident that all the remaining matches of the Amir Cup will be sell-outs. The new system is witnessing exciting battles and we have got some more matches to go,” he added.

“We saw Al Markhiya reach the quarterfinals at the expense of Al Gharafa after a great match. It looks like there will be more surprises in the tournament,” he said.

“By the look of it, some exciting matches have been drawn. I would say it is a well balanced draw. The fans will have a great time watching these matches,” he said.

With regard to the marketing and media aspects, Al Kuwari said: “We have held accompanying activities in the previous stages of the tournament that were aimed at linking community and football activities in partnership with the Cancer Society. In the next stage, we will hold events that are also being coordinated, and once their arrangements are completed, they will be announced.”
