Doha: The Qatar Football Association invited the Yemeni U15 national team to attend the FIFA Arab Cup 2021 final match between Tunisia and Algeria tomorrow, Saturday, at Al Bayt Stadium.

This invitation is in honour of the Yemeni team, after they were crowned champions of the West Asian Football Federation (WAFF) U15 Boys’ Championship 2021, with their victory in the final over their Saudi counterparts.

Yemen won 4-3 on penalties, after the end of normal time, which ended in a 1-1 stalemate.

The eighth edition of the WAFF U15 Boys’ Championship, hosted by Saudi Arabia, saw the participation of 9 teams, from 5-13 December.

The QFA’s honouring of the Yemeni U15 team is to serve as an incentive and motivation for them to continue at this level of high performance and enthusiasm, that they showed throughout the tournament.

The Qatari and Yemeni FAs have had close relations and fruitful cooperation over many years. The two parties signed a cooperation agreement, and bilateral relations have witnessed many aspects of constructive cooperation, including support for Yemeni sports teams and clubs, the establishment of training camps in Doha and hosting matches of Yemeni teams.
