Doha: The Qatar Football Association (QFA) has launched its activities in Souq Waqif and Ain Hleitan, as part of the promotional campaign to support our national team in the FIFA Arab Cup Qatar 2021. These activities have been organised with the aim of encouraging fans to attend games and support Al Annabi during the Arab Cup, which will be hosted in Qatar from November 30 to December 18.

Fans will be able to purchase tickets for our national team’s matches and obtain a Hay’ya card (Fan ID) at the venues of the QFA events, through designated ticket booths. All spectators who buy tickets will also need a Fan ID to enter the stadiums, whether they are living in Qatar or visiting the country during the tournament. The Fan ID is a smart card that offers ticket holders many services, including the use of public transportation for free during match days.

The promotional campaign at the QFA events has also seen the filming of video content that help raise interest in the Qatar national team, and encourage fans to attend the matches. These videos have been shared on the QFA’s social media platforms to reach all segments of Qatari society, among both citizens and residents.

Speaking about the campaign, Khaled Mubarak Al-Kuwari, Director of Marketing and Communications at the QFA, said: “Our marketing campaign was launched a while ago, and it is divided into several parts according to our marketing and media plan with the aim of encouraging support for our national team in the Arab Cup. With each tournament, we strive to provide new content in line with our goals, and God willing, we see all the Qatari and resident fans supporting our national team in the Arab Cup matches, having an imprint in this tournament, as we have been used to seeing in all previous tournaments.”

The Director of Marketing and Communications added, “Today, the activities of the Qatar Football Association were launched in Souq Waqif and Ain Hleitan market to promote the matches of our national team, and we invite everyone to enjoy these events designated for them. Also, in coordination with the local organizing committee of the tournament, booths will be allocated to purchase tickets for our national team’s matches. Fans can also obtain a Hay’ya card (Fan ID) at the venues of the QFA’s events, which is an additional service we have provided for our fans. This is in addition to the locations announced by the Local Organising Committee, which are the Doha Exhibition Center next to Katara, Villagio, Mall of Qatar and Doha Festival City.”

Al-Kuwari stressed: “All the work and activities that we do, including marketing and media campaigns, aim primarily to invite our fans to attend our national team’s matches in the Arab Cup. This stems from the keen interest of the QFA, headed by His Excellency Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Thani, to provide the ideal atmosphere for Al Annabi, and also to ensure the best services for the fans in general.”

Our national team will play in Group A at the FIFA Arab Cup, alongside the teams of Bahrain, Oman and Iraq, and the opening game of the tournament will see Al Annabi face Bahrain on November 30, at Al Bayt Stadium. This will be followed by the second game against Iraq at Al Thumama Stadium, and finally, the third and last group fixture, against Oman at Al Bayt Stadium.
